Sweat Glands 06:37
I want to dance in your sweat glands, Dance in your sweat glands. I want to touch hands, unwashed hands, Well-known, well-worn smelly and raw. I want to breathe in your circuits, The stinging smell synapses Exude in trembling connections, Hot energy passing through mind matter.

Companion 05:07
Pain is my companion, my undoing too. Sometimes it’s so soft-spoken, but the words always break through. Pain is my companion, my undoing, true, I know that it will never fully cease until I do too, Till I do too, welcome it to normal life. No jumping high, no crawling low, Know there’s no other place to go. Hide it but keep it close and warm, And let it fill my human form. Sneaking through the dead air is a buzzing sound. The quiet of the moment welcomes it to the foreground Sneaking through the dead air, steady and in tune, It knows that it will never become silent until I do too, Till I do too, welcome it to mundane life. No jumping high, no crawling low, Know there’s no other place to go Hide it but keep it close and warm And let it fill my human form. In the dark of night it pulls me from a dream, Creeping up and down my limbs, an electronic stream. In the piercing light, it scrambles up the view. I know that I will never cease to sense it until I am through, Till I am through, settle into a low-grade strife. No jumping high, no crawling low, Know there’s no other place to go. Time to relax and sink into That which will color all I do… Pain is my companion, my undoing too. Sometimes it’s so soft-spoken, but the words always break through. Pain is my companion, my undoing, true, I know that it will never fully cease until I do too.

Paper Tacos 03:36
Bright construction paper on the floor But there will be no special delivery to your door. A little trinket for each year I crafted for you but I will be keeping them right here. Doo doo doo… It sprung from a joke you shared with me How funny would it be, were it to be reality? Now with all these cards upon the floor, These little birthday notes don’t make me chuckle anymore. Doo doo doo… I had such grand plans before now, Elaborate whimsy balanced with stability somehow Folding creates form but also wears Down the center, weakening it all until it tears. Doo doo doo… (Last Verse same as the first)

Red Rover 03:54
Over 5 years on other-worldly soil, Traversing rocky, rough terrain The winters are long and dark and windy here, And dust makes the sun look small and faint. You share all the news of everything you’ve found To those who have sent you far away. And now you’re trapped in cold, Martian gravel of Silica Valley, Millions of miles from the planet you came from, but now all your roving’s done. You held out for so long in a hostile world, With landscapes so empty and surreal. You scaled jagged rocks and craggy mountainsides, And weathered the dust devils with zeal. Handling data and adversity, Forging ahead with your broken wheel. But now you’re trapped in cold, Martian gravel of Silica Valley, Millions of miles from the planet you came from, but now all your roving’s done. You dug up the soil with your busted wheel, And scientists marveled in delight, Finding the silica beneath the ground, a footprint of water and of life. Your malfunction brought about your lucky find, You wouldn’t let go without a fight. But now you’re trapped in cold, Martian gravel of Silica Valley, No more transmissions, the end of your mission, despite signs of life you’ve found.

I haven’t taken any steady lovers in the past several years, It kind of makes it hard to track the time, But I can’t handle somebody always wishing and hoping That I’ll get well soon. I’ll get well acquainted myself With the ache, with the burning conduction through these wires, The fog cast upon my eyes, No shock, no more surprise, ‘Cause now I always feel like rustic machinery. I may look practical, but all that’s inside of me Feels rusted, worn out and fatigued, fading into scenery. There are moments when the pungent rain smells like a birth in the decay, It waters plants and garbage all the same, I feel myself slip into the sopping, seething abyss of my biology, Oblivion softer than the ground. Flow, like a rivulet, hard and cold and clean, Into a new routine, Eroding and serene, Because I’ll always feel like rustic machinery. I may look practical, but all that’s inside of me Feels rusted, worn out and fatigued, fading into scenery. I haven’t taken any steady lovers in the past several years, It kind of makes it hard to track the time, But I can’t handle somebody always wishing and hoping That I’ll get well soon, I’ll get well acquainted myself.
